MIND BODY SPACE: Exploring joy and justice in nature πŸƒ

MIND BODY SPACE: Exploring joy and justice in nature πŸƒ

  • How do I reconnect to the joy of being at one with nature?

  • How do I find my place in environmental justice movements that don’t seem to include me, my community or our needs?

  • How do I bring forward & make sense of the lessons from those that came before me as we think of solutions to the climate crisis?

  • How do we build the just futures we want but are beyond current imaginings?

Over the last few months the Science London team have had the pleasure of working with the Natural History Museum Explorers programme and environmental justice activists, creatives, researchers & sci commers to think about these questions and more in relation to environmental/climate justice.

It became clear that while many care deeply about the climate crisis, they struggle to find spaces to connect with nature or environmental activism in ways that feel safe, welcoming or joyful

We all felt it was important to try and create a space like this. A space where those of us routinely considered β€˜other’ or β€˜outsiders’ can come together to redefine our relationships with nature and environmental justice. A space where science, art, history, culture, activism & more merge to help us imagine and begin working towards the futures we want to see for people and the planet. 🌍🌎🌏
